Most of our clocks are round, because watches are round, because wrists are round-ish, because the universe loves circles. The Square Luxury-Style breaks that — and once you have one in a room, you realize how much of clockmaking is just defaulting to “round.”
It’s aggressively square. The bezel has visible screws — eight of them, decorative, holding nothing. The Roman numerals are oversized and unbothered. The hands are blued-steel-look (painted blue, but the right blue). The dial says “AUTOMATIC” because the watch it’s based on was automatic, and also because “AUTOMATIC” sounded better on a dial than “QUARTZ.”
